ILTER member networks are mostly national networks of scientists engaged in long-term, site-based ecological (LTER) and socio-ecological research (LTSER). They have expertise in the collection, management and analysis of long-term environmental data. Together they are responsible for creating and maintaining a large number of unique long-term datasets.
The official ILTER sites
ILTER currently encompasses 39 member networks, which together operate over 750 sites. The periodic accreditation of ILTER sites is carried out each year on our metadatabase, DEIMS (Digital Environmental Information Management System). Sites may carry the ILTER label if they meet the specified requirements, including full documentation and accreditation by an LTER network, either national or otherwise.
