Calling all Early Career Researchers from ILTER Sites!
Are you passionate about your field site and its impact? This is your chance to shine and showcase your research to the world!

Your Mission: Create a 5-8 minute virtual tour video
that highlights 
  • Unique aspects of your research site
  • Real-world applications of your data
  • How your work supports ILTER's goals (ecology, sustainability, global collaboration)
Eligibility: Graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career practitioners (1-5 years), and early-career academics (1-5 years) whose work is based at, or affiliated with, ILTER network sites.

ILTER OSM 2026, Bariloche, Argentina, Fall 2026  
Hosted and supported by several Argentinian Research Institutions
ILTER OSMs are vibrant gatherings that showcase the very best of long-term ecological research from around the globe. These events bring together scientists, policymakers, and practitioners to exchange insights on ecosystem trends, biodiversity, climate change, and sustainable land use, among other topics.

In addition to the rich scientific program, ILTER OSMs offer unforgettable field trips to extraordinary ecosystems—like the upcoming meeting in breathtaking Patagonia, where participants can experience first-hand the landscapes that inspire and inform long-term ecological research.

Moreover, this event is specifically designed to elevate the America Ecological Network, promote the science of Ecology in the South American region, and to improve ILTER representativeness in the Americas and in the Global South

Retrospection: ILTER OSM 2024, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China, 14-19 October 2024

The third ILTER Open Science Meeting has included a full range of academic sessions, plenary lectures, social events and field trips within the beautiful Xishuangbanna area in south China. The event has provided a unique opportunit to exchange knowledger regarding the latest developents in long term ecosystem research and related fields, and to network with colleagues from around the world.

Our OSMs specifically addresses LTER related researchers and site coordinators, and all LTER stakeholders and partners. The participation of early career scholars and postgraduate researchers is always encouraged.
