Attendance and voting requirements

  • All Member Networks are cordially invited to send representatives to the ILTER CC meeting. It is important to note that no voting will take place during this meeting.
  • The CC meeting’s agenda will however encompass items for information and for discussion, including reports by the ILTER regional groups, ILTER standing committees.
  • The webinar on our new ILTER Research Initiatives will be integrated in the CC meeting. Only this part of the overall event is open to the public.
  • Only Member Networks which have paid their annual membership contribution before the meeting (or who have demonstrated that the payment will be made in the same calendar year) possess the privilege to take part in the Governing Board meeting as active voting participants.
  • Those Member Networks which have encountered difficulties in paying their annual dues, are invited to participate in the Governing Board meeting as observers, albeit without voting rights.
  • During the Governing Board meeting, each delegation holds a single vote for decision-making or elections. Consequently, in cases where a delegation comprises more than one individual, a designated head of delegation should be appointed.
  • To ensure the quorum for voting, it is of utmost importance that all paid Member Networks are represented at the Governing Board meeting. Please take note that proxy voting will not be available.
  • We kindly request to refresh your understanding of the updated ILTER governance approach.

Past Event: ILTER Coordinating Committee Meeting

12-13 October 2022

Novi Sad, Serbia

Host: BIOSENSE

Management level meeting restricted to member network representatives, side-by-side with the ILTER Scientific Conference

Timing

The CC meeting will be held 12-13 October, 12-14 UTC on both days (Wednesday and Thursday), that is 14-16 CEST locally, and offered in hybrid format. This is the ILTER association's general assembly open to member network delegates.

We strongly encourage in-person participation for the CC meeting which will give us better opportunities to interact and make it easier to take some important decisions.

For all those who attend in person, and likewise open to all interested parties, in parallel, there will also be a hybrid scientific event 12-14 October in the mornings. The latter will be organised by the ILTER Science Committee. ILTER scientific conference participants may take part in the CC meetinga as guests but have no voting rights.

CC delegates were kindly requested to consider presenting their scientific or technical work at the Scientific Conference and to submit an abstract.

Registration

All on-site CC participants are expected to also register for the Scientific Conference and pay the registration fee to cover the costs incurred by our host. There is no separate CC registration process nor a separate CC meeting fee.

If you need a formal (pro-forma) invoice regarding the fee, this will of course be provided.

Explore a curated collection of previous ILTER webinars on our YouTube channel. Learn about research insights drawn from ILTER sites spanning the globe. Delve into the presentations of exceptional young and early-career researchers as they showcase their work in the realm of long-term ecological and socio-ecological research.
ILTER Open Science Meetings (OSM)
Once every some years, the world-wide Long-Term-Ecosystem-Research community including further interested researchers and stakeholders gathers at the ILTER OSM hosted by one of its members. The OSMs include a full range of academic sessions and workshops, plenary lectures, social events and field trips.
Coordinating Committee and Regional Group meetings
The ILTER Governing Board and the ILTER Coordinating Committee convene annually. These meetings are hosted by one of the Member Networks and in most cases, they are held in conjunction with a scientific event. In those years, an OSM is held, the Coordinating Committee meeting is held after the OSM to reduce the need for travel. Sometimes, for the same reason, these meetings will be held virtually only.

The ILTER Regional Groups ILTER EAP and LTER Europe hold regular meetings for the purpose of conducting an in-depth exchange more closely related to their specific concerns than would be possible at the all-ILTER meetings.
