ILTER Coordinating Committee Meeting

12-13 October 2022

Novi Sad, Serbia

Host: BIOSENSE

Management level meeting restricted to member network representatives, side-by-side with the ILTER Scientific Conference

Timing

The CC meeting will be held 12-13 October, 12-14 UTC (13-15 CET) on both days (Wednesday and Thursday) and offered in hybrid format. This will be open only to CC delegates. We strongly encourage in-person participation for the CC meeting which will give us better opportunities to interact and make it easier to take some important decisions.
For all those who attend in person, and likewise open to all interested parties, in parallel, there will also be a scientific event on-site 12-14 October, 9-12 CET (optionally continuing from 15:30-17:30). The latter will be organised by the ILTER Science Committee.

CC delegates are kindly requested to consider presenting their scientific or technical work at the Scientific Conference and to submit an abstract.

Registration

All on-site CC participants are expected to also register for the Scientific Conference and pay the registration fee to cover the costs incurred by our host. There is no separate CC registratin process nor a separate CC meeting fee.

If you need a formal (pro-forma) invoice regarding the fee, this will of course be provided.

Agenda

The agenda will be organised by the ILTER Executive Committee and provided here in due time together with supporting documents.

Attendance and voting requirements

  • Each delegation has one vote, that is, for any delegation consisting of more than one person, one should act as head of delegation.
  • Also the election will happen via online voting. Therefore, at the beginning of the meeting, a bylaws adaptation enabling this process will be proposed to the Coordinating Committee.
  • It is important to reach the quorum for voting, and all Member Networks are thus requested to attend the meeting.
  • We will not have proxy voting at this meeting.

Online meeting room

The link will be sent to all network representatives before the meeting and is also available at the meeting cloud space.

Third ILTER Open Science Meeting (OSM)

Postponed to 2023

Kunming – 昆明, China

Host: CERN (Chinese Ecosystem Research Network)

The conference website provides detailed information about the next ILTER OSM.

Currently there are still significant travel restrictions in place as a result of the Covid pandemic in China, and it is unlikely that these will be lifted very soon. Therefore, and in light of our wish to enable broad face-to-face attendance at the meeting, we have decided to postpone the ILTER OSM for one year to 2023. We assume that this will enable all of us to hold a memorable event in Kunming in 2023, which will definitely be much more fruitful than a mostly virtual conference in 2022. The new date has not yet been fixed but will be communicated in due time. We are looking forward to meeting with you in China in 2023!

Webinar

PELD is kindly organising a back-to-back webinar on Long Term Ecological Research in Latin America
ILTER Open Science Meetings (OSM)
Once every three years, the world-wide Long-Term-Ecosystem-Research community including further interested researchers and stakeholders gathers at the ILTER OSM hosted by one of its members. The OSMs include a full range of academic sessions and workshops, plenary lectures, social events and field trips.
Coordinating Committee and Regional Group meetings
The ILTER Coordinating Committee convenes annually. These meetings are hosted by one of the Member Networks and in most cases, they are held in conjunction with a scientific event. In those years, an OSM is held, the Coordinating Committee meeting is held after the OSM to reduce the need for travel.

The ILTER Regional Groups ILTER EAP and LTER Europe hold regular meetings for the purpose of conducting an in-depth exchange more closely related to their specific concerns than would be possible at the all-ILTER meetings.

Owing to the Covid-pandemic, currently, these meetings are organised online.
